SCHOOL NIGHTS PROOF OF CONCEPT
You should have seen writer-director (and Four Letter Words owner) John Killoran field the question of “how did you license those songs?” at numerous film festival Q&As—never outright responding, “I did not” (which would have been the truth*), but also never lying.
*Throughout the short’s festival run, Johnny continued to make good-faith attempts to secure the proper rights to the music. It’s on YouTube now, and the only issue is that Madonna’s people say that no one in Russia or Belarus is allowed to watch it.
